Here’s a simple and powerful recipe using ginger, onion, garlic, lemon juice, and honey—great for immunity support, soothing a sore throat, or boosting digestion:
Ingredients:
-
2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and chopped
-
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
-
4–5 garlic cloves, peeled
-
Juice of 1 lemon
-
2–3 tablespoons honey (raw if possible)
-
1 cup water
Instructions:
-
Blend the base:
In a blender or food processor, combine the ginger, onion, and garlic with ½ cup of water. Blend until smooth. -
Simmer:
Pour the mixture into a small saucepan, add the remaining ½ cup water, and simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes. This softens the flavors and extracts the beneficial compounds. -
Strain:
Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the liquid into a bowl or jar. Press the solids gently to extract as much liquid as possible. -
Add lemon and honey:
Let the liquid cool slightly (warm, not hot), then stir in the lemon juice and honey. Mixing while too hot can destroy some of honey’s beneficial enzymes. -
Store:
Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
How to Use:
-
Take 1–2 teaspoons directly for a natural immunity boost.
-
Mix 1 teaspoon in a cup of warm water or tea.
-
Great for sore throats or seasonal cold support.
💡 Tip: You can also add a pinch of turmeric for extra anti-inflammatory benefits.
